This journey includes Cusco, Machu Picchu and Puno, the folkloric capital of Peru, we will explore what wonders this city has to offer along with a visit to the world famous Lake Titicaca, home to more than 65 floating islands! The most famous ones being: Uros and Taquile, each different and unique in their customs and traditions! Come explore and learn about the pre – Incan cultures that still exist today! Puno is a Peruvian city capital of the district, province and department of the same name.

It is located in the middle of the Collao plateau on the shores of Lake Titicaca. It was founded as San Juan Bautista de Puno on November 4, 1668 and later renamed San Carlos de Puno to honor King Charles II of Spain. Its feast of the Virgen de la Candelaria was declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO on November 27, 2014.

Itinerario

  • Day 1 -Cusco – City Tour (Private Tour)

    We’ll pick you up from Cusco airport and take you to your hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the cathedral, Qorikancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pukapukara, and Tambomachay before returning you to your hotel.

  • Day 2 -Sacred Valley VIP – Aguas Calientes (Private Tour)

    We pick you up at 7:00 am from your hotel in Cusco and visit Chinchero, Moray, and Maras for natural salt. Lunch in Urubamba is included. After visiting Ollantaytambo’s archaeological part, we’ll take the train to Aguas Calientes and transfer you to your hotel.

     

  • Day 3 -Machu Picchu – Cusco (Private Tour)

    Our guide will meet you at your hotel and take you to Machu Picchu, where you’ll visit main areas like the Temple of the Sun, the Intiwatana, and the Temple of the Three Windows for 2.5 hours. Afterward, you’ll have free time to explore and take photos. Return to Aguas Calientes by bus and enjoy lunch at a restaurant of your choice. Be mindful of your train schedule and arrive at the station 30 minutes early. Our team will be waiting for you at Ollantaytambo to bring you back to your hotel in Cusco.

  • Day 4 -On the Way to Puno (Group)

    In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at the Bus station. This is a really nice bus trip that is more like a tour as it stops at four interesting sites along the way. Where you have guided tour and lunch at a restaurant. Places we will visit are:

     

    • Andahuyalillas: Sistine chapel of South America: this church is one of the most beautiful examples of Andean popular religious art. (It leaves at 7:00am and arrives at about 5pm.)
    • Raqchi (Wiracocha God Temple): This was an Incan church of monumental dimensions; 100 meters long, 26 meters wide and 14 meters high. The temple is divided in two naves and each nave shows 11 giant columns that’s huge!
    • La Raya: This is the half-way point between Cusco and Puno and also the highest point (4335 meters above sea level). The landscapes here are stunning and typical Andean animals like llamas, alpacas and vicuñas are common. It is also the geographic border between two cultures, the quechua and Aymara.
    • Pukara: This is the most important and oldest ceremonial center of the altiplano. There are interesting life like sculptures and tombs. The trip also includes a really nice lunch buffet in a Sicuani town.

    We will arrive late in the afternoon to our Comfortable hotel in Puno.

  • Day 5 -Floating Uros and Taquile Islands (Private Tour)

    Early in the morning we will transfer you from the hotel to the port and then by motor boat. We will take you to one of the legendary islands of Uros, where you can observe the lives of the Uros people who live on the floating reed islands. After a beautiful three-hour boat ride, we reach Taquile Island, where we will break into smaller groups to stay with the local families.

    You have the opportunity to trek to the top of the mountain (4150 m.a.s.l) to see the Temples of Pachamama and Pachatata. Enjoy the traditional customs of the island people. Food and authentic music prepared and performed by your designated family. Then, we return back to Puno and transfer you back to your hotel.

  • Day 6 - Departure

    After having a delicious breakfast, we will take you either to Juliaca (airport) or Cusco.

    Option 1: Drop-off service to Juliaca airport located only 45 minutes away from Puno.

    Option 2: Drop-off service to the bus station and once there, to Cusco.
